Remember Remember Your Pets This November!
This is just a quick reminder to keep a watchful eye on your pets this week during the fireworks season.
Many animals can be scared and need extra attention at this time of year.
There are several things that you can do to minimise the impact-
- Walk your dog before the fireworks are due to start
- Keep lights on after dark and close the curtains
- Keep doors, windows and cat flaps closed
- Play music or put the TV on to mask the noise
- Lavender scented items can have a soothing effect on an animal
- Quite often it is the reaction of the owner that can influence the pet so remain calm and do not transfer your anxiety to them!
- Let cats hide where they want to and don’t attempt to pick them up
- If possible bring hutches inside. If not then give your pet extra bedding and cover the hutch with blankets to mask the noise
